We put our larger clients on Advanced deliberately

As a practice we steer clients who have outgrown Plus onto Advanced rather than off QuickBooks entirely, because the reporting and batch tools handle their growth while keeping them in a platform we know inside out. It has saved several clients a disruptive migration.

Pros

Keeps growing clients in a familiar platform we support deeply. Batch tools handle their higher volumes. Custom reporting answers their board questions. Priority support helps when a client hits something tricky.

Cons

Not every client needs it, and the price means we only recommend it when the need is genuine. The reporting builder rewards experience, so we often set it up for clients rather than leaving them to it.

Powerful, and we grew into every feature

We upgraded reluctantly on price and have ended up using nearly all of it. Project profitability, custom roles for our project managers, and the reporting have all earned their place. Value is the only reason it is not five stars, it is not cheap.

Pros

Project profitability tracking is genuinely useful for a construction business. Custom user roles matter when you have project managers who should see some things and not others. Reporting is a clear step up.

Cons

Value for money is the weak point, it is a premium price. Still QuickBooks underneath, so it will not do true multi entity if we grow into that.

Capable but we did not need this much

Honest reflection, we were upsold into Advanced before we really needed it. It is a genuinely powerful plan but for our retail business the extra reporting and automation mostly sit unused, and we are paying a premium for capacity we do not touch.

When we do use the reporting it is good. Reliable and familiar. Support is better than the cheaper plans.

Cons

We do not use most of what we pay for. Should have stayed on Plus longer. The price for our actual usage does not stack up. Watch you are not upsold too early.

Hello Michael, thank you for the candid note. If Advanced exceeds your current needs our team can review whether a lower plan fits better, we would rather you were on the right plan. QuickBooks Customer Care

Automation gave our team its time back

We ran the lower plan for years and spent every month end in Excel building the reports the board wanted. Advanced put those reports in the system and month end went from days to an afternoon.

Good, though we may have needed more

It does everything well for a single entity, but we bought up within a range that could not fully solve our specific problem, so we still work around one big gap.

Custom fields transformed our reporting

Custom fields and tags let us report profitability by client and campaign in a way the standard plans never could, and now every client conversation is backed by real numbers.
