We employ just over 700 people across the UK, Ireland, Germany and three smaller offices. Before Sage People every board pack involved chasing four spreadsheets and hoping the definitions matched. Now headcount, attrition and cost sit on one live dashboard and the numbers agree with themselves. Our account manager has been genuinely excellent, checks in quarterly with things we actually asked for.
The reporting engine is the single biggest win, anything the board asks for I can build myself the same day. Country specific absence rules mean German staff see German policies and UK staff see UK ones without us maintaining separate systems. Self service adoption was immediate, even among our field agents.
You need a proper administrator. We trained one of our HR team on the Salesforce side and she is now indispensable, which is both the pro and the con. Admin screens look their age in places.
