Does the hard stuff well

A good honest tool. You buy it for the depth, you tolerate the looks, you negotiate the price.

Would choose it again tomorrow

Moved from a cloud product back to Sage 50 because stock and order processing on the cloud side were toys by comparison. The difference in capability is not subtle.

Our accountant would riot if we moved

We run stock, orders and three companies through it and it has never once let us down at month end. The depth is the whole point, everything joins up to the ledgers underneath.

Four stars from a long term user

The AI additions are better than expected, document capture especially. The core screens underneath have not changed in a decade, for better and worse.

Capable but increasingly hard to justify

If you have deep stock or group needs it still earns its place. Our needs simplified and we are probably a cloud customer now who has not admitted it.

Honest three from a decade long user

It does everything on the tin. The tin, however, is priced like a premium product while feeling like a legacy one.

Stock control worth the subscription alone

The onboarding call they include was worth having even after years of experience, the adviser tidied settings we had lived with wrongly for ages.

Twenty six years on Sage and my hands still know every shortcut

I started on Line 50 in 1999 and I can still post a batch of sixty purchase invoices before my tea goes cold. The cloud products are fine for simple clients but for anything with stock, jobs or multiple companies, nothing at this price touches the depth. The new document capture reading supplier invoices straight in has genuinely changed my mornings.

Keyboard speed on batch entry that browser software will never match. Proper double entry with journals that behave like journals. The report designer will build literally anything once you learn it. Our accountant clients all know it inside out.

Cons

The price climbs every single year and the subscription argument still rankles those of us who once owned our licences. Multi user over our office network needs the data checked more often than it should.
