Just works, every time

Because wage costs flow straight into the accounts I finally see true margins, which has actually changed how we price our work, on top of payroll simply being fast and painless.

For a small crew the base fee plus per employee cost, plus needing a higher tier for the features I wanted, added up to more than I expected once the intro discount ended.

Staff pull their own pay stubs

We were already on QuickBooks so adding payroll was obvious, and it has been, one login, one system, and every pay run posts to the books automatically with no double entry ever.

Same day deposit is brilliant

The automatic tax filing took my biggest worry away

As a small studio owner I used to lie awake worrying about payroll tax deadlines. QuickBooks Payroll files and pays them automatically now, and because it runs inside QuickBooks the whole thing posts to my books without me touching it. It is the closest thing to a payroll department a business my size can afford.

Cons

The per employee cost adds up as we hire. Some of the best features like same day deposit are on the higher tiers. Support was slow once on an unusual question.

Good payroll, mixed support

Reliable for routine pay runs, but support struggled with anything out of the ordinary and the per employee pricing made it feel built for bigger teams than mine.
